Bio

Hey, my name is Jasmine Barnes and I am a sophomore studying textile engineering with a concentration in product development! My hometown is Apex, North Carolina; but a fun fact about me is that I lived in the United Kingdom for two years.

Why Wilson?

I have always dreamed of attending North Carolina State University, and in my freshman year of high school, I decided I wanted to pursue an engineering degree. However, I was uncertain of which type of engineering I found great interest in. In my junior year of high school, I attended a summer camp, STEP, offered by the Wilson College of Textiles. I selected the textile engineering major and fell in love with both the Wilson community and the major itself. Textile engineering allows me to learn and work with both my passion for engineering and sustainability within textile development while being part of a supportive community!
