Alexis De Castro
Sophomore
Bio
Hello! My name is Alexis De Castro and I am a sophomore majoring in Fashion and Textile Management with a concentration in Fashion Development and Product Management. I am from Thomasville, North Carolina. In my free time, I love cheering on the Wolfpack as a mellophone player for the NC State “Power Sound of the South” Marching and Pep Bands!
Why Wilson?
I was especially drawn to the Wilson College of Textiles from my exposure to its unique family aspect. Being an attendee of the Summer Textile Exploration Program (STEP) and scholarship finalist weekend, I’ve had the privilege of learning about the college’s great support network and community. Everyone I talked to, whether an alum, instructor, donor, or partner of the college, had wisdom to share about their experiences in education and in the industry. Every person I ran into had something great to say about their work and was always open to share their knowledge and give advice to anyone who needed it. Within a few interactions, I already knew as a student of the Wilson College of Textiles, I was going to be surrounded by people who cared about me and wanted to help me achieve my personal and professional goals! As a student now, I can confidently say that these assumptions I came into college with are extremely true! I seriously love my Wilson College family!!
